Brief history of BMW

BMW has come a long way since its inception as a manufacturer of aircraft engines in one family, the most popular luxury and sports car manufacturers today.

The company started in 1913 that the company Rapp-Motorenwerke, manufacture of aircraft engines, before merging with the Bayerische Flugzeugwerke plant, located nearby on the outskirts of Munich in 1922. The letters stand BMW Bayerische Motoren Werke.
